Small-Balaton (appr. 8-12 km from Hévíz): the Small-Balaton region is part of the Balaton Uplands National Park. It is an extensive, contiguous wetland habitat, a unique natural treasure of Europe.

Jami of Pasha Ghazi Quassim: The green dome of the Mosque of Pasha Ghazi Quassim is the greatest work of Muslim architecture in Hungary.

Tapolca: This town is located in the Balaton Uplands area, 10 km far from the shore, quite close to Szigliget. One of its main attractions is the grotto lake: its crystal-clear water is nearly 1 metre deep, and one can make a 250-metre long subterranean boat trip in the grotto.

Herend: the porcelain of Herend is "Hungarikum" (ei. a unique part of Hungary). Many of the classic patterns of the factory are still in production, like the Victora pattern dating back to the World Exhibiton of 1851 in London. The bright colours, the beautiful butterflies and the sprays are much liked with good reason. The building complex of factory, workshop and museum attracts a large number of visitors, and one can observe the working phases of china production.

Balaton: the largest fresh water lake of Central Europe, its water surface is appr. 590 square km. On an average the annual number of sunny hours is about 2000, the shallow water warms up very quickly. This and the pleasant climate of the region makes the lake to a popular summer holiday attraction. The lake is also very popular due to its favourable weather conditions for sailing and boat trips, you find several harbours along the shore. Pleasure boats embark regularly in summer and many sailing regattas are organized too.
